Doping, sport, performance: notes on “limits” of body

Abstract

: This essay analyses the doping problem taking into account three recent episodes involving the athletes Javier Sotomayor, Carl Lewis and Maurren Maggi. In my reflection, I use the press discourses, not exactly as sources, but as references. I try to understand relations between drug usage and performance as a complex expressed by sport, but present in other social spheres. I also observe that doping, associated with the corporal training machine, becomes a technical problem to sport.
